Wolfie’s Legacy Adoption Contract
This adoption contract confirms that the dog identified below, has been transferred from Wolfie’s Legacy into my ownership. I shall abide by all the conditions listed below:
I will not have the dog euthanised for any reason, including illness or behaviour, without prior authorisation from Wolfie’s Legacy.
If I am unable to keep the dog for any reason, it will be returned to Wolfie’s Legacy. Under no circumstances will the dog be rehomed to a third party.
I agree to provide all required veterinary treatment, including routine preventative medicine, for the life of the dog. I understand that once this contract is signed I am responsible for the full cost of these treatments and Wolfie’s Legacy have no responsibility for any part of these costs.
I agree to abide by all the requirements of UK law regarding dog ownership, including making sure the dog wears a collar with a tag at all times and all other rules.
I understand and accept that the dogs microchip will be registered to Wolfie’s Legacy as well as myself.
I agree to notify Wolfie’s Legacy, the local authority and the police immediately, if the dog is ever lost or goes missing.
I agree and understand that as much information about the dog as possible has been passed on to me, but that Wolfie’s Legacy have no previous history about the dog before arriving at the rescue. Therefore the temperament, behaviour and health of the dog cannot be guaranteed.
I agree that the dog is to be allowed to live indoors, and under no circumstances will the dog be kennelled outside.
All dogs must be neutered/ spayed. Should the dog be offered for adoption before being neutered (for example, bitches who have only just finished a season cannot be neutered for 3 months as this may compromise their health) then the new owner MUST neuter the dog. Follow up by Wolfie’s Legacy will ensure this happens and if the dog is not neutered within 3 months of the adoption date, we will retrieve the dog back into our care.
I understand and agree that Wolfie’s Legacy may conduct a standard post home check, to check that the adoption has gone smoothly. They may also make contact occasionally to check on the welfare of the dog.
I agree that I am over 18 and in no way disqualified from keeping a dog.
I understand and accept that if any of these conditions are broken, or if Wolfie’s Legacy have any reasonable concerns for the dog’s health or safety, that they can remove the dog and return it to their care, where I will have no further claim to it.
I understand and accept that Wolfie’s Legacy offer full rescue back up for the life of the dog. This means that if you can not keep the dog for any reason, Wolfie’s Legacy will always have the dog back, it must not be rehomed to anyone else. You must notify us as soon as issues occur and we will organise to have the dog back as soon as possible. I understand and accept that sometimes this may take a short period of time for us to make space, as we are very busy, but we will always keep you fully informed.
I agree that I have read and understood all of the above, which I freely enter into by the signing of this agreement. THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU AND WOLFIE’S LEGACY. BY COMPLETING AND SUBMITTING THIS FORM YOU HAVE CONFIRMED YOUR AGREEMENT.
